Thoughts on the Project Life App

Monday, January 26, 2015

Have you played with the Project Life app yet? I downloaded it as soon as it was available, but I haven't made any pages yet. I love paper too much to go digital! Recently, the Project 52 core kit came out and I loved the colors. I definitely don't need another physical core kit so I waited until it came out on the app. I really liked paying $1.99 for the kit!!

I'm trying to develop some healthier habits this year and decided to document my progress through the Project Life app. I don't know what I'll do with the pages when I'm done. I think I would be more likely to make a bound photo book out of them versus printing each page out. Some people are printing each page and adding embellishments though.

I can't believe how quick it is to make a page. Seriously. You can zoom out and change cards easily. It's easy to switch around your cards - after you fill up all the "pockets", you can hold your finger down on one of them and drag it over to another spot to switch those cards/pictures.

You can change your font, the size, the color, the alignment, etc. So simple! I haven't tried it yet - but you can also export your finished pages and open them in other photo apps. The Rhonna Designs app has some amazing quotes that I want to try adding to patterned filler cards.

And best of all, you don't have to worry about working with the back of an existing pocket page. I've gotten used to that over the last 2 year of doing physical Project Life, but a lot of newbies have a hard time getting past those limitations.

Are you a digital or physical Project Lifer?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  2. I've heard nothing but good things about the app - but I'm a paper girl all the way. Your pages are just lovely.

    1. I feel the same way! Try it for an event or a birthday party. You might like it more than you expect. You can also print the page and add embellishments.

  3. Fabulous pages! I'm not a PL girl, but have been considering doing one page per month of random photos/things.

    1. The PL app might be a fun way to do those monthly at-a-glance pages!

  4. Love your pages. I have started doing some Digital Project Life layouts. I don't think I can ever totally convert to digital though - I have a serious addiction to pretty paper and PL cards. I love the journaling font that you used. Is that a standard courier font? Thanks for sharing!

    1. I wont clvert either, but it's fun doing something a little different. The font is one of the PL app standard apps.

  5. It scares me how much I love the way this looks. I have not downloaded the app because I don't want to be a digi scrapper! I do think PL is harder than it is made out to be in its regular form. I love it when I'm done but it's quite a process! I have 2013 almost done and half of 2014 in an album to be finished. I am doing 2015 in 6x8 inside my planner.

    1. Tracie it's kind of right up your alley. Minimalist. Not a ton of embellishments. Very story and photo driven.

  6. I haven't been tempted by the paper kits, but the app is well worth a look.
