Project Life Week 27

Thursday, August 28, 2014

Another bright and pretty week. I don't usually mix pink and red, but I think it worked this time. And how about those wood grain 3x4 cards from Simple Stories?!

Left side: bathroom renovations, a new tree supply place for Joe, and I actually read a book (it's been too long).

I adore this 4x6 card from Heidi Swapp's "Favorite Things" core kit.

Just added a few enamel dots to this polka dot card.

Right side: a 4th of July party, a hug from a sweet pup, and some goals I'm working on.

Still loving the Print n Play kit from Stephanie Adams.

Project Life Week 26

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Project Life Week 26. I like these bright colors and used several things from the June Print & Play kit from Stephanie Adams Designs. This kit is a great combination of physical and digital products. I can use my Cameo to print and cut more cards and embellishments. Love!

Full spread:

Left side: The putt-putt picture is on a new Heidi Swapp PL card that just came out. I liked using a built in place for a hashtag.

Right side: Those star embellishments from Studio Calico are super fun.

I grabbed one of my roller stamps and stamped most of the sentiments randomly on this card. I think it turned out cute and it's been on my "to do" list for q long time.

And of course, a memorial to the great Two Peas in a Bucket scrapbooking site.

Now that summer's winding down for most of you, are you going to have time to get caught up with your memory keeping?

Project Life Week 25

Thursday, August 7, 2014

Project Life week 25. This was the last week of pics I brought camping with me a few weeks back. The paper is a 6x6 pad from Carta Bella's Wildflowers collection. It's beautiful. I wish I had another photo or two for this spread, but oh well.

Full Spread: Joe's family reunion, painted pots are completed, new table runner from Target, Roan Mountain Festival, and cutting bead board for our bathroom.

Left side: Short, simple, and sweet embellishments this week.

Right side: Lots of nature photos here.

I like using 6x6 pads because the scale is usually better for smaller projects like PL. Have you ever tried using a 6x6 pad for a PL spread?

Crafty Blog Hop

Monday, August 4, 2014

Good morning! I was invited to participate in a different sort of blog hop this week by Elise at Feed Your Craft. She shared her answers last week. I'll be telling you about my creative process, and I've picked some inspirational pictures to show you too.

1. What am I working on right now?
Getting caught up on Project Life, writing down ideas to include in my Camping mini book, and considering starting an Index Card a Day project. I have a Rolodex I bought quite a while ago and I'd love to make cards with quotes, new techniques, and favorite embellishments. I've been missing Smashbooks for a while too - I have lots of ideas I haven't completed in those books!

2. How long does it take to create a project?
It really varies. I tend to work on ongoing projects (like Project Life and Smashbooks). When I make a scrapbook page, I tend to start it one evening and finish it the next day. Sometimes I like to think about it before gluing everything down.

3. What are my fave things I love to create with at the moment?
Gold embellishments,  6x6 paper pads, and MAMBI clear stickers.

4. How does my writing/creating process work?
For Project Life, I look at my calendar and Momento app entries, print all my pics, spread them out on the table, and pick a color scheme or kit to work with that week. For scrapbook pages, I usually have a picture that I love... then I look through my Pinterest boards to see if I've pinned a layout that speaks to me.

5. What inspires me?
Blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, bold patterns, bright colors, bohemian clothes, vintage things, nature.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look into my creative process. I have 3 bloggers that you can visit for inspiration...

I've recently found the blog Happy Scrappy Appy and I'm loving the beautiful 12x12's that Rachel creates.

Tina at Tina's Scrap Corner gets a ton of pages done by creating her own counterfeit kit every month. One day I'm going to try it!

I love the cards, color schemes, and the 8x8 pages from Lisa at Blackbird Darlin.
