Christmas Card Ideas

Monday, November 4, 2013

When I heard about this great card drive, I told Mom about it. Cards are being collected and will be distributed to elderly patients in nursing homes. Mom and I got together this past Saturday and made 11 cards to send. Most of these cards are pretty simple and didn't take long for us to put together. We stamped various sentiments inside each card. We came up with some of the cards on our own, and used our Pinterest boards for inspiration as well. Check them out here and here.

On to the cards!

I think this one ended up looking sort of vintage. It's one of my favorites:

This Christmas card is bright and fun!

This one is so pretty:

Mom added some glittery paint to a few of the berries to give this card some extra pizazz.

I made this one quickly with a die cut and 4 triangles for the corners. I used a large square paper punch and trimmed the squares in half to make these photo corners.

I love the dimension on this one. I used stamps, buttons, circle bunches, a die cut, and snowflake stickers.

I love how these candles turned out. Mom cut the flames for me.

Don't these ornaments look like they're hanging off the branches? Too cute!

Mom made this beautiful religious card.

I made this one more masculine, since there will be men receiving the cards too.

I love the black and white on this card Mom came up with!

If you would like to participate in this card drive, there's still plenty of time. Cards are due November 28. Please consider sending one (or more!) in. These cards are sure to brighten someone's day.

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  8. Fantastic job on all the cards and they all look great in their own way: Love the candles, the masculine one, the ornaments on the tree, and the bright and fun one with all the extra dimension, those are my favorites but I like them all and the people at the elderly home will too.

    1. When I was making that one, I kept thinking it was too simple and that I needed to add something - but I ended up leaving it alone. I'm glad I did!

  11. Great card ideas. I always recycle last year's cards for these types of drives. They are easy to do by cutting the fronts of cards down and layering over new cardstock and then you just have to stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card base.

  12. All of your cards are beautiful. I agree with you - the vintage-y Christmas tree is my favorite. The Caring Hearts Drive is a lovely way to celebrate our craft and help others. I have been thinking about donating cards as well and had looked at Operation Write Home.

Thanks for sharing your hard work!
