Catching Up on Life

Friday, August 9, 2013

How do you decide on which project to do at a given time? I know some people finish one thing before moving onto the next, but I like to have options. And so I have about a million projects started (and a million other ideas yet to be started). Sometimes I really need to:

Or stop reading blogs and make things. :)

Currently I'm working on my weekly Project Life, that Heidi Swapp memory file album, the Find Your Voice workshop, the 30 day selfies challenges at A Beautiful mess, catching up on the Phone Photography Project, and a number of SMASHbooks.

I'm wanting to start a little sn@p album about our camping adventures, an altered Rolodex, a photo frame for the camper, and some online Silhouette classes. There is not enough time in the day!

In my non-crafty life, we also bought a new camper and traded in our old one. It definitely takes some time to set up a new one - it's like moving into a house! This new one is so much bigger and we love it.

In other exciting news, I've recently been nominated for an award - the Versatile Blogger Award. How fun is that? Stephanie from Bee Tree Studios nominated me.  The award is given to other blogger to recognize them and help promote their blog. Thanks Stephanie!!

Here are some fun bloggers I've been following - go check them out!

  2. Cool camper! The older I get the more I want to get one of these and travel. We do a lot of road trips and some days I wish we had one instead of hitting motels.

    1. Erica it's so fun! We bought our first one last year and ended up trading it in for a slightly larger one that is gonna last us years and years. It's a wonderful way to travel!

  3. Congrats on the nomination!

Hmm, for me, I can feel the build-up to specific projects. They're all I can think about day and night when I'm 'ready' to start them or they just suddenly jump out at me and I just have to start it then and there. It's the completing projects that's more the issue for me. I'm good about finishing my scrapbooking projects but my quilting projects seem to linger (for years). I've gotten much, *much* better over the years at not taking on too many projects all at once but it's never easy to strike a balance.

    1. It's hard not to do everything! Some of my projects are kind of quick things that I can finish... Others are more long term. I don't care about following along with challenges as they're occurring, but my end goal is always to finish fairly quickly.

  4. It is mostly what I'm in the mood for - do I want to make a card or a page? What technique do I want to try?

    1. I think that's why I like to have so many options... Then I can go with whatever mood I'm in!

  5. I usually finish off a layout or card before moving onto another of the same, unless I', waiting for something to dry. But I also might have a mini book or other craft project tucked away somewhere!

  6. We are so much alike :) When it comes to crafting, I like to have many options too. Having different things going on at once. I love multi-tasking!

Congrats on the nomination! You deserve it! And thank you so much for putting me on your list, at the top no less! I appreciate the love [and link] ♥

    1. I guess some people like to have a lot going on, and others are better at concentrating on one project at a time. I can't wait to take long trips in the camper (Grand canyon or bust!)

  8. Many options here too, I try to avoid the challenges if I can unless it's a scrap challenge then I'm getting scrapping done. Lol we are so alike in the things we do and your right there isn't enough time in the day and summer it's tougher to get at anything with the excitement of outdoor events. I have a schedule in the winter choose a night for that particular thing M-PL, T-Cuts/Smash, W-Business or Club Book keeping, TH-TV night in the winter all the good shows are on that night, F-Cards, SA-Blog and Su-Scrapbook. Now this works for me (in the colder months) and it's mainly at night when I do it after dinner dishes are done I get a few hours to create. And if I don't have anything to do on Wed or if Th is a rerun night than yay for me I got a free night to craft whatever I like.

    1. Oh I see what you're saying regarding challeneges and getting some scrapping done. That makes a lot of sense!! And that schedule is an awesome idea! I could really see it working better for me in the winter too. I will try it!!
