30 Days of Lists - Part 5

Monday, September 30, 2013

Here are days 20-25 of my #30 Lists project. You can see the rest of my pages here. I've been listing them here 5 at a time, but somehow forgot to include #20 in the last group. I was originally going to post my lists via Instagram every day - haven't really kept up with that. Oops! The important thing (to me) is that I've kept up with this project pretty well this time. I think making the book ahead of time was key for me.

Day 20: Things comforting me this week.

Day 21: My food pyramid. This is in the order that I like food, not necessarily the order in which I eat food. Sounds legit, right?

Day 22: Recent Dreams. I very rarely remember my dreams at night, so these are daydreams.

Day 23: Things People don't know about me because they don't bother to ask:

Day 24: How to have a better day:

Day 25: My family's quirks. I haven't named names, to protect the innocent. You know who you are. :)

September is over! Just one more post about #30 lists to come. Have I mentioned how much I heart this paper collection? Seriously!

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

Project Life Week 36

Friday, September 27, 2013

Here's my Week 36 of Project Life. Double post of PL this week since I was out of town and didn't post it before I left. I used several different PL cards this week - mixed and matched! Although it's very convenient and quick to use a kit for a week, I prefer mixing and matching to create a more custom look.

Full spread:

Left side: I cut my first avocado and mango to make Mexican Haystacks from Pinterest, got my nails painted a fun temperature-changing shade, and hubby cut our trees!! (He owns a tree cutting service. Remember seeing him way up in this tree a few weeks ago?)

I was at work, and Joe didn't tell me he was starting our trees today - he just sent me these "before" and "after" pics!

Right side: camping, reading, surprise homemade Cinnstacks pancakes, and my latest round of mosquito bites. I ask you, am I really this sweet? Joe has zero bites.

Just added a few alphas to draw attention to this card.

How cute is this card?? Got it at Target!

I cut the center out of a 4x6 card to fill up this 4x4 spot:

I'm linking up at this week's Project Life Tuesday at the Mom Creative.

Do you like mixing and matching or using one kit for a week's spread?

Inspiring Words Project Life card

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Here's the second Project Life card I made for the swap group. (You can see the first one, the Dr. Seuss quote, here). The only criteria for this card was that it should have inspiring words on it. I chose one of my favorite quotes and used Silhouette Studio to help me make the card.

I used an app called Word Swag to make my quote pretty - then I printed the quote out on vellum. I've had a lot of luck with this vellum from Amazon. The ink doesn't smear! I do let the ink dry for a few minutes before I start cutting the paper.

I cut a little heart geotag out of the same paper and flipped it over. I stapled the geotag on so that I wouldn't have to use any adhesive on the vellum. It always shows through if you do!

Project Life 2013 - Week 35

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Week 35 was a (mostly) fun week. Mom and Dad and I went to a huge gun show and flea market (we were only there for vintage treasures), I got featured in the new Jot 2 digital magazine, and my plants grew! I also had to go to a doctor about my neck/shoulder (the situation hasn't gotten any better despite physical therapy and medication - boo!)

Full spread:

Left Side: we went to Panera after a drug rep brought us some info and 2 cookies - Sandy and I love the BBQ chopped chicken salad. It had been too long since we had got it for lunch!!

We cashed in our change at Coinstar - got an Amazon gift card. Did you know that you don't have to pay the taxes/fees if you get a gift card instead of cash? We love to get cards for Amazon or Lowe's when we have a big ticket item to purchase. Makes it seem like we're getting something for free!

Right side: Beautiful Pyrex at the flea market, and me proudly holding my minnow bucket!! It was only $15. And no, I don't know what I'm going to do with it, seeing as I don't fish. But I love it!

Thought I would try something new with a 4x6 speech bubble card. We went on a little day trip to Knoxville. I didn't take any pictures, but was still able to document what we did and where we went on this trip!

I'm linking up at this week's Project Life Tuesday from the Mom Creative.

Have you used speech bubbles in a fun way? Link me up so I can see.

And do you have any suggestions for what a non-fisherperson can do with a minnow bucket??

Vacation - September

Monday, September 23, 2013

My hubby turned 40 this month. I started vacation on his birthday and we went to Orlando. I made him this fun birthday card. We stayed on property at Universal and had a blast. We love being right in the middle of the action. Of course I'll be documenting this trip in my Project Life. I'll be showing it to you next week.

Our hotel was supposed to look like Italy (I think they did a pretty good job of it)

We visited Universal Studios, Universal's Islands of Adventure for the third time. We actually got engaged outside the Jurassic Park ride, so Islands of Adventure has a special place in our hearts.

We really like posing for silly pictures:

We also went to SeaWorld for the first time. It was awesome! We did a VIP tour since we only had one day at the park. We got great seats right in the middle for the 3 biggest shows (sea lions, whales, and dolphins),  and then we got to feed sea lions, dolphins, and sting rays. We got done with the tour a little early, so we go to see their animal rescue facility. So fun!

feeding sea lions:

Penguins - it was like 30 degrees in there. BRR!

We had a great time, but we're glad to be back home :)

30 Lists Part 3 - September 2013

Friday, September 20, 2013

I've been out of town, so I'm a little behind in posting my 30 Days of Lists. There will be a couple of posts this week so I can catch up. Before I went out of town, I snuck a peek at the topics and went ahead and wrote out the titles. I don't really like spoiling the surprise of the daily list, but I needed to be able to keep up with this project. So it worked for me!

Day 11: Things my family taught me:

Day 12: Favorite things about September

Day 13: Bad Habits

Day 14: Weekend Essentials:

Day 15: In my junk drawer

And there you have it. Have you been playing along with 30 Lists? Are you caught up?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!
