February Book Report

Still loving reading... but only finished a couple in February. That brings me up to 6 this year - my goal is 30!

First up was State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. It's a fictional book about studying people in the Amazon rain forest and developing a drug that could change how infertility is treated. I loved the characters and it was easy to get sucked in. I definitely want to read more of her books!

Second was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It's about a woman who becomes a caretaker for a terminally ill man. It was very good, but I had a hard time buying in all the way. I read reviews where people were sobbing at the end of the book, but I didn't connect to the characters that much.

Read anything good lately?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  1. Have to say I would probably read the first book it sounds interesting but eh..sobbing at the end is something I would have to avoid. I still haven't watched Marley and Me just for that reason. I haven't gotten back into my reading quite as much as I liked and right now I am just reading the James Bond books, I watched the movies for years and figure the books would be interesting and have to say those movies took a lot of liberty which I never realized, both with the character of James Bond and the actual plot itself. The books themselves are ok and I think that's why I am having a hard time reading them they can be kind of dry at times.

    1. I've never watched Marley & Me either!! I guess they had to spice up the JB books to make them screen ready!

  2. I agree with Leslie, the first book you mentioned sounds interesting, Emily. I'm still making my way through The Girl With All The Gifts, but am also reading All the Birds in the Sky. :)
