Christmas ornament wreath

Thursday, December 18, 2014

I just wanted to share my Christmas wreath with you... It's hanging on my fireplace and I absolutely love it!

My mom and I made this a few years ago. We got a simple wreath (we used green, but a silver or other fun color would look good too) at a craft store. Then I dug through my ornament hoard stash and picked some duplicates out. We then hot glued the ornaments to the wreath. Done!

At the time, I only had 2 vintage plastic ornaments. We popped them in half and stuck them in 4 places around the wreath. I just got this big bow at Big Lots for $2 and added it to the wreath this year. Perfection!

Have you made a Christmas wreath for your fireplace or front door?

Hello Autumn Wreath

Thursday, November 7, 2013

I made this fall wreath using Basic Grey's Persimmon collection. I used every sheet in the collection - I love them all!

I started by arranging rolls of paper in a circle and hot gluing them. I used shorter rolls to make a second layer on top. And then I realized I hadn't kept a sheet of paper to make something to cover up the gaping hole in the middle. (Yikes!!)

Luckily there were some coordinating shapes available in the Silhouette Cameo store. I got this cute pumpkin and "Welcome Autumn" sentiment. I just printed the sentiment onto scrapbook paper from another line - I think it matches well enough! Then I cut the pumpkin shape and put it over the middle of the wreath. I added a couple of star and arrow stickers from the Persimmon collection and considered it done!

Here you can see the dimension:

Halloween Paper Medallion Wreath

Thursday, October 24, 2013

I made this paper medallion wreath last year, before I started my blog. I absolutely love it! I hung it up again this year on my fireplace. I used some cute paper from K&Co and some matching embellishments.

First, I cut strips of paper 3" and 4" wide and 12" long. I used my Martha Stewart scorer board to mark the paper in 1/4" increments, then folded the papers back and forth to form the medallions. I used 2 or 3 strips to make each medallion.

I used decorative border punches along one side of several strips of paper to give some medallions a different look.

I used a punch to make circles to cover the centers. I used the embellishments to decorate every center. Here's one of my favorite medallions:

They're so pretty laid out on the table!

And here's the finished product. I love how it turned out!
