SMASHbook page ideas

Monday, June 10, 2013

Don't you just hate when you're in the mood to smash or scrapbook, but you don't have any ideas??  I used to get 'stuck' all the time.  So today, I thought I would share some ideas for SMASHbook pages. I've been keeping a list of inspiring pages as I run across them. Of course, there are also tons of ideas pinned on my SMASHbook Pinterest board. Hopefully this list will inspire you to make a new page in your SMASHbook!

In my black All About Me SMASHbook, I want to add pages for:
1. Guilty Pleasures
2. Phone apps I use
3. 100 Things I love
4. Current and past jobs
5. Adjectives about me that start with E, M, I, L, and Y

In my white Wedding/Love SMASHbook, I want to add pages for:
1. making wedding jewelry with my mom
2. a great pic of my and my parents right before the ceremony
3. Joe's 'before the wedding' stories
4. me and Joe riding bikes @ camping world
5. Joe, the Most Interesting Man in the World

In my red Random/Challenges SMASHbook, I want to add pages for:
1. thrifting with #poppintags as the title
2. my craft room
3. washi tapes
4. something with a patchwork paper background
5. Zentangles

I just got the Green Tasty SMASHbook - I plan on adding favorite  and new restaurants, and favorite and new recipes.

Do you have any great ideas for me to add to my list??

Cinco de Mayo SMASHbook page

Monday, May 13, 2013

Cinco de Mayo is one of my most favorite holidays - so of course Joe and I went out to celebrate! When we got to our favorite Mexican restaurant, I saw this fun standup cutout and told Joe that we were going to take a picture. Luckily he played along, even though he doesn't always want to take the picture <3 I did this page in my Black mod All-About-Me SMASHbook because I love taking silly pictures.

Here's the finished page: The banner, ole!, and chihuahua are from a sticker set by the Paper Studio (available at Hobby Lobby).

These small papers are from the fortune cookie refill set from K&Co's SMASH line. There are tons of sentiments in the pack, but these best fit the occasion. The gold medallions and heart die-cuts are from a new, very SMASH-y set from K&Co that I picked up at Michael's last week.

Look at these fun stickers and diecuts - I chose a '5' die cut, a May calendar cutout, an adorable Chihuahua sticker, a word sticker from K&Co, and a flower diecut. The '5' and the flower are also from that new SMASH-y K&CO line.

I'm still working on doing more journaling, so I used a Sharpie fine tip marker to add some journaling to the page. I was going to use a journaling card, but I had too much to say and ran out of room after adding all of the embellishments to the page.

And here's a close-up of that hilarious picture.

Joe and I have a lot of fun together!

All About Me Smashbook: Favorite Things

Friday, March 8, 2013

Here's a few more pages in my black All About Me smashbook. All of the pictures are 2"x2" instagrams. Enjoy!

I love cute little owls. I went around the house and took pictures of a few of them (and realized how many I had!!!). I made a grid out of washi tape and used chipboard letters to spell out 'owl'. On the right side, I cut the owl on the branch from a piece of scrapbook paper. Cute huh?

Another thing I love is purses and bags! I made a page with a few of my favorite purses. I found a couple of tags from purses and added those. The fun banner is made out of washi tape. I tore the K&Co "need it want it love it" washi tape and scattered it around the page.

A third thing I love is getting manicures and pedicures. My mom treated me to a manicure at Austin Springs spa for my wedding, and I have been hooked ever since! I added a picture of us from that day.

I want to do more pages in this smashbook - on my to-do list are guilty pleasures, my iphone and favorite apps, what the letters of my name stands for, and 100 things I love.

All About Me SMASH book: Introduction and Words to Live By

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I love SMASH books and had to buy a couple extra to do, besides the one I did for Project Life last year. I've never done any scrapbooking about myself, so I decided to use the black mod smash book for an All About Me book. I normally scrapbook in chronological order, but this book has been a real departure from that. I started by making a list of some of the topics I wanted to cover in this book. And when I want to do a page, I just look through the book and pick a page that goes with my topic.

The first page in the book is an introduction page. I used several alphabet sets to write out some of the roles that I have in my life... Wife, daughter, sister, pharmacist, crafter, collector, and organizer. I put some of Target's pink polka dot washi tape underneath the alphas. Silver Thickers were the perfect way to spell out my name on a name tag. I used stickers and paper from Simple Stories 'Fabulous' collection and bits and pieces of other paper collections. The yellow buttons (with adhesive on the back - whoa!)  were $1 at Walmart!

I've been collecting quotes on this Pinterest board for a while and I turned to it when I wanted to do a 'Words to Live By' page. My intention was to add quotes to it gradually... but I actually filled up every journaling card and sticker the night I started the page. Oh well!

So what do you think? Have you ever done any All About Me scrapbook layouts? What topics did you include?

I love reading each and every comment!
