Believe in yourself card

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

I made a quick card the other day... perfect for a friend that needs a little pick-me-up :)

I just cut down some 12x12 scrapbook paper from My Mind's Eye, added some washi, and a MAMBI clear sticker from Michael's. I added a few sequins here and there to make the card sparkle a little bit.

DIY Utensil Pack

Friday, June 6, 2014

Today I have a quick and easy project to show you! I used Jillibean Soup Birthday Bisque to make a little utensil pack!

I used a Cameo Silhouette cut file to create this little bag. You could make a few of these for your next cookout, birthday party, or baby shower. A fun napkin could be folded up and tucked behind the silverware too.

I made a paper medallion and used a circle punch to make the center for the medallion. Chipboard embellishments would also look cute on the bag!

Just place the bags in a basket for your guests to pick up as they go through the buffet line... Or add names to the bags and use them as place settings!

Basic Grey Spice Market

Thursday, May 29, 2014

I made this page using Basic Grey's "Spice Market" collection. I seriously love every pattern, so I got one of the 6x6 paper pads, chipboard stickers, and the waterfall theme pack. Basic Grey has always been one of my favorite companies.

I altered a Silhouette Cameo cut file by removing a border and removing some non-circular cuts in between the circles. Then I cut it out on cream card stock. I turned the paper over and started taping pieces of paper onto the back of each circle cutout. I flipped it over a couple of times to make sure the colors were balanced but otherwise I didn't really plan the placement!

I used some chipboard stickers in some of the circles and love how it turned out.

Have you altered a Cameo cut file?

Framed Word Art

Friday, April 11, 2014

Have you seen those 8x10 ready-to-frame Word Art prints from My Mind's Eye? Ever since I saw them, I've been wanting to paint a wooden frame from Michael's and put a print in there.

I got a shadow box because the frames didn't come in an 8x10 size. I used a 40% off coupon so it was pretty cheap! I didn't get a good picture of it, but I painted the outside edges lightly with gold.

I used a regular hole punch to punch small circles out of stickers from the collection. I love how this banner turned out!

I was so happy when this little frame was displayed on the mantle at Scrappin' in the City!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Bella Blvd Molly collection

Monday, April 7, 2014

My second project for the Scrappin in the City Design Team is this 12x12 page using the new Bella Blvd "Molly" collection. I fell in love with the camera paper and just had to make something with it. I absolutely love this page and I'm pretty proud of it! It might even inspire me to make 12x12's more often... maybe :) I used a sketch I saw over on my blogging friend Tina's page.

I adore this phrase cut file from Two Peas (designed by Wilna!). I love script font.

I used a few of the "Candid Cards" on the page. There are 4x6, 3x4 and 2x2 sizes in the packet. Tons of colors... and they're printed on both sides. Let's just say I might have tried every single 2x2 combination on this page before deciding on this one :)

many color and size choices

I included some journaling on a tag in a glassine bag. Long story short, I always take selfies with Harley and rarely get a shot of her looking at the camera... but I keep trying. The pictures turn out really cute anyways :)

Mini Album from 12x12 Cut Apart Paper

Thursday, April 3, 2014

Here's my first project for the Scrappin in the City Design Team! I've been wanting to make a mini album out of those 12x12 cut apart sheets... so I finally did!

front cover mini album

I used 2 sheets from Alison Kreft's "Sprinkled with Love" collection. I love the colors in the collection... the last resort we stayed at in Jamaica was decorated in black, white, turquoise, pink, and yellow.

I cut 2 strips out of the 12x12 cut apart papers and staggered them so I would have more "pages" in my mini album.

overlap strips of cards to make a mini album

I used washi tape on the edges to help disguise where the papers overlapped and to add a decorative edge.

use washi tape to hide any rough or uneven edges

Here's one side of the album all spread out:

pages on front side - beach, sunset, watersports,

I listed our favorite things about Jamaica... the beach, music, food, water sports, and sunsets.

beach days

sunset, "this is my happy" sticker

You know I had to include some enamel dots!

sunglasses stickers, sailing, water sports, bob marley

And the back side all spread out:

One Love honeymoon

Most of the "pages" didn't need too much embellishing... just a few stickers here and there.

great food and relaxing music

relax in the cabana, listen to music

Hope this post inspired you to use up some of those 12x12 cut apart pages you have in your stash!

Exciting News

Thursday, March 27, 2014

So I have some exciting news!!

I am now a City Chick, part of the design team at Scrappin' in the City a Knoxville, TN scrapbooking boutique. Even though it's a couple hours away from me, it's the only "local" scrapbooking store in this area! It has a great selection of products and an amazing upstairs space for crops. Seriously, if you're a nearby scrapbooker that wants to have a fun crop one weekend (or weekday depending on our schedules), let me know!

I'm super excited to get started! I get to pick which paper collections I want to work with. I'll be making 3 design pieces each month and displaying them in the store. I'll be sharing the projects on their blog and here as well.

Here's a little sneak peak -
I've been working on projects using Allison Kreft's "Sprinkled with Love", My Mind's Eye "Record it!". Love the colors in each of these. I also have something in the works using Basic Grey's Spice Market... or maybe Bella Blvd's "Lucky Starz" - I haven't decided yet!

Hope you're having a great week! I'll be back with some Project Life to show you tomorrow!
