So I'm caught up so far in 2014, haha! :) I love the Coral kit and I love how this week turned out... although I originally thought it would be boring to use one kit the whole year, I've changed my mind about that. Of course I'll be adding other kits and random cards throughout the year, but I love how simple it is to get it done when you limit your choices a bit. I haven't limited my embellishing choices though!
Full week: a new job (!!!), a new planner, taking down Christmas decor, reminiscing about old times, and milkshakes at Chik-fil-A. Perfect.
Left side: I *might* make all of my title cards this way... I got some alpha and number stamps for Christmas. I really like the simplicity of stamping the week and then writing the dates underneath. Lesson learned from last year: I won't be pre-making my title cards. I want to pick the one I want to use each week.
Right side: This year I told Joe he has to send me a picture each week to help me "document his life" better. I want his perspective to be included more than I did last year. And yes, I have an alarm set on my phone for every Sunday night so I can ask him. Wonder how long it will be before he realizes that?! He took a picture of his coffee cup and the fireplace at Cracker Barrel and the little cow picture. His pictures are going to liven up my PL, that's for sure!
My cousin found this picture of me and my grandfather. I'm so glad he and his wife sent it to me!
I think these little mountains may be a symbol to go along with my One Little Word choice!
I'm still chipping away at those little star stickers from a Freckled Fawn kit a couple months ago. I've used more blue than pink stars.
I know this stamp has been around for a while, but it's new to me! And it fit perfectly in this journaling spot.
So how are you going to keep up with PL this year? Do you set time aside each week? Or print out your pictures monthly? Leave me some tips in the comments!
I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and
Fun layout this week and it's great that your getting Joe involved with it too. I agree about the one kit, that is my plan too got the cinnamon kit for Christmas so I want to use that this year and got lots of mini kits for Christmas to use for fillers. I plan to do my pics weekly and plan to work on my layouts the week after if time allows, but plan to work on each week by the end of the month no matter what, no getting to far behind this year. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan Tina. I just think limiting my choices for cards gives me a better chance of completing each week on time. Good luck for you!
DeleteYou're off to a fab start, Emily! Your pages look great and I love the idea of including snapshots from your husband, may have to get mine to get involved too! :)
ReplyDeleteOh definitely try to get him involved... my hubby sent me pics randomly in 2013, and those pics are some of my favorites. :)
DeleteGreat use of patterns! Even in the photo of the coffee cup, very cool.
ReplyDeleteI do love patterns Ange! And since (almost, if not all) of these were from the Coral Kit, it made coordinating happen very quickly. I love that coffee cup and planner photo a lot!
DeleteGreat pages! Love that you included a photo of your nails!!
ReplyDeleteI always do Ashley! I am a reformed nail biter and I really enjoy having nice nails now!!
DeleteThis is awesome I love following your blog. I didn't start my 2014 PL one week at a time like you have. Is it to late for me to do this.. so new to project life.. I feel I will need lots of help lol.
ReplyDeleteOh it's definitely not too late to do weekly if that's how you'd rather do it!! There are a lot of people that do monthly PL's too. I think it just boils down to how much time you have and how much time you want to spend doing it. You just holler at me on Instagram or through Facebook anytime you have a question Anna! :)
DeletePages look great! Love seeing the coral edition; your spread has convinced me I need this kit too!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Breanna! I'm a great enabler ;)
DeleteEmily thanks for linking up to the PLCS blog. I love your pages and your use of the Coral kit! That may be the one I pull out for the PL pages I'm working on tonight. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAmy thanks for the opportunity to link up and I'm glad you're inspired :)
