25 - a book that is more than 10 years old
26 - a book based on a true story

The first book I read was The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins [affiliate link]. It satisfied the number 6 "a book by an author you've never read before". My mom read it and recommended it to me. It's about a girl that sees the same houses and people everyday on her commute and how she ends up being interwoven in their lives. I started it while we were on our cruise (look for pictures from that trip soon). It was a pretty easy read but it kept me guessing until the end.

The second book I read was Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed [affiliate link]. I'm using it for book #26 - a book based on a true story. Cheryl experienced some tragedies and then did some soul searching on the Pacific Crest Trail (it stretches from Canada to Mexico). I can't imagine doing something like this, especially by myself. I read this book during almost every free moment I had. It was good!!

Have you read either or these books? Or have you read anything good lately?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  1. I haven't read either of these, but I might be using Wild for my reading challenge too. :) I did just finish The Magician's Lie by Greer Macallister and liked it a lot.

  2. I love this list. I saw someone mention the "The Girl on the Train" too, so I have added it to my read list. I recently finished "Unbecoming" by Rebecca Scherm. It is a new author for me and the cover caught my attention :). It was a good psychological read.
