Fall Confetti Card

Monday, October 28, 2013

Making a confetti shaker card has been on my To Do list for quite a while. I haven't been in much of a crafting mood lately, but decided to play around and I came up with this. I love it!

I did my own take on the confetti card. I wanted to put this in my Project Life, but I didn't want all the confetti to settle at the bottom. I used some spray adhesive on some vellum and then dropped some confetti onto the vellum. I added a couple of leaf stickers. I like the look of sewn shaker cards, but I'm not about to drag out my sewing machine for something so small - so I used washi tape to seal the edges. I think it turned out pretty good! Here's the confetti card in a Project Life spread.

Have you made a confetti card? Do you like the stitched look or washi tape better?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  1. What a great idea, it turned out really cute! I've made confetti shakers a couple of different ways, but I'll be trying yours out next!

  2. Such a great idea! I've never done a shaker, but I definitely need to. I'm too lazy to take out my sewing machine, haha.

  3. I really like the sequins and washi tape. It almost looks like a framed piece. Great job.

  5. That is so cute and looks like a fun card. Sadly I had my fill back when we used die cuts to make shakers out of them. So really haven't jumped on the new shaker wave. I do enjoy looking at what others have done though. TFS

  8. This looks really cute, I love the addition of the leaves! I have trouble with washi peeling off some projects so I'm not sure I'd trust it to hold loose confetti but it's probably okay for bits that are stuck in place! x

    1. Thanks!! I wouldn't trust wash on loose confetti either!! This card is going in a Project Life spot, so I figured it would stay in place.

  10. Your card is gorgeous !
I'm more a sewing girl than a washi girl (I sew on everything but don't have lots of washi !), so the only card I made like this was with sewing (http://isbahashome.blogspot.fr/2013/10/cards-with-leftovers-part-1.html), but I also love the look of the woodgrain washi, beautiful !

    1. Thanks Isbaha! Your card is lovely. I think if I had a place to keep my sewing machine set up all the time, I would use it more...
