Dr Seuss Project Life Cards

Monday, September 9, 2013

I joined a little Project Life card swap on Facebook and I'm participating in 2 swaps this month. I'll make enough cards for the girls in my group, and will get several cards back! The first is a Dr. Seuss quote swap.

I cut up my favorite paper from Crate Paper's 'The Pier' and made 3x4 cards. I printed the quote on vellum and attached it to the card using washi tape. I tried several different ones before I found my favorite - which do you like best??

I ended up using the gold polka dot washi. Enamel dots and Studio Calico cork stickers were the perfect finishing touch!

What is your favorite embellishment to add to your Project Life cards?

I love reading each and every comment! Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook!

  4. I think we may belong to the the same Facebook group and if we are, I am bummed that I didn't join that swap! I love the quote, I love that it was printed on vellum, and I especially love the gold polka dot washi tape! I think my favorite thing to add to project life cards is washi tape. I do like enamel dots/liquid pearls/puffy paint accents too. Do you select certain printer properties when printing on vellum?

    1. Hey Heather - I'm sorry you didn't join that swap! I am sending 4 extra to the swap host - not sure what will happen to them. Maybe you'll send up with one after all!

I just use the normal print settings when I print on vellum. Let it dry for a few minutes before cutting it. I bought this vellum: http://goo.gl/p1iYAV and have been really pleased with it.

I think gold works great with that Crate line!

  6. Good choice on the washi tape, I like that one myself. I use die-cuts, stickers, washi and dots/rhinestones to decorate my cards

    1. Thanks Tina! I haven't used any rhinestones, but I actually just got some yesterday in my Oh Deer Me kit from Freckled Fawn. Can't wait to try them out.

  8. These are super fun! Sounds like an awesome swap. I like to use any random left over embellishment. PL cards are a great way to get all the little bits and pieces used up. :)
