As for masculine pages that I have done more than my fair share. I tend to use neutrals, blues, browns, green, beige, greys, etc. A bit of punch always is nice against a neutral color. As for embellies pretty much anything goes but I do use stars, arrows, circles with a smidgen of hearts or flowers. I think what you did is just fantastic.
